Image Library Poster

The first half of Digital Media I was focused on getting physical captures of images. Ranging from taking pictures of objects having a texture, to painting patterns with various objects to create unique forms, the goal of the class was to give us the ability to use our surrounding environment to create compositions to relate a design.

The first half was split into 4 exercises:

Ex 1 - Camera

For our first exercise, we had to go capture captivating textures of objects by taking pictures around campus. We then made them monochrome and organized them by shape, form, and direction.

Ex 2 - Handmade

In this exercise, I brought a golf ball and a paintbrush and a sponge to use paint with and create my handmade patterns. I also used the bottom of a glue stick to make the spinning circles.

Ex 3 - Vector Patterns

While now being digital, we had to create patterns using shapes or strokes. Just like with the past exercise, I was organizing them by shape and form and liked these most.

Ex 4 - Photomontage

With a mix of every exercise, the photomontage was a combination of each photo, painted patterns and vector patterns to create each composition. It was on of my favorite exercises in this class.

The final project of these exercises was the Image Library Poster. We had to make a collage using our past works from each exercises to create either a mechanic of fluid composition. I chose the word "mechanical" and created these two compositions
