Typography I

Through our Typography I class, we focused on the use of simple shapes rather than text to create a new way of typography. Although seemingly simple, it was a fun and inspiring class that gave me a better understanding of typographic composition in a simplistic yet complicated way.

Typography I was comprised of 3 projects

Project 1 - Typless Typography

With this first project, we utilized simple shapes, such as squares, circles and triangles, to create a abstract calendar compositions.. The project was split into 3 parts, those being 3 shapes with 1 size, 3 shapes with 2 sizes, and 3 shapes with 3 sizes.

Project 2 - Resume

Here, we created a personal resume layout utilizing a limited typographic palette, with a focus on structure, composition, and fundamentals.

Project 3 - Lollapalooza Posters

Integrating abstract calendar compositions, event and line-up information, and imagery related to the venue, we were tasked with making poster designs for the 2024 Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago.
